As I've noted before on this list, one sure result of the U.S. extension will be that Canada follows suit quickly, in order to "harmonize". Some of the folks from copyright owner/creator groups appearing before the House and Senate standing committees that reviewed bill C-32 after 2nd reading proposed an extension very very strongly and some even were prepared to have C-32 defeated because they thought it so "flawed" (no extension of the term, too much given away in the exceptions that were watered down, etc.). Unfortunately, in Canada we don't have even the possibility of a constitutional challenge such as outlined for the U.S.!
