Greetings,
As a copyright assistant for an academic institution I have been asked address the following situation:
A professor, employed by this institution, is giving a lecture series/workshop as a visiting professor in an Asian country. Prof. A would like to make a coursepack of materials available to the participants. He'd like me to estimate the prices of the material he wishes to use. Not unusual or problematic, so far... But, the coursepacks will actually be copied and bound in the Asian country where he will be doing the lectures.
Q) If I apply from the US and gain permissions, are these applicable if the material is actually copied outside the US?
OR
Do the permissions need to be applied for under the guidelines of the Asian country since that is where the copying will be done?
Thanks for your insights,
Kathryn
