In Canadian law there are some fairly strong moral rights set out, and these apply to all works although there are some special cases (eg. maps, which are classified as artistic works, do not receive the specific moral rights protection for artistic works, but do share in the general moral rights provisions). Moral rights cannot be assigned, however they can be waived. Further, I believe that moral rights run for the same term of protection in Canada as do other rights under our copyright statute.
