Follow up: artwork photos

Someone expressed the interest of knowing what we decided to do re putting digital photos of campus artwork (mostly by our students) on our library homepage. Here is what we decided: we plan to contact all the known authors of the artworks and ask for written permission for what we intend to do with their work, and only those who granted permission will be included on the web pages.

As much as we would like all the student artists to get their artworks displayed on the web, we are persuaded by what we read from the opinions of this listserv's members and what we interpreted from the copyright law that it would not be prudent to do so--however well-intentioned it may be.

For all who shared their thoughts on this matter, we are most grateful.
