Under the legal rubric of "getting a license from the copyright owner." I spoke with several people from Princeton's media lab about this (and about other creative infringements they were engaging in) during a CAUSE presentation that they made about a year ago -- they claimed it was fair use. I'm a big fan of fair use, but I dont think it works here. I don't think the 110 exemptions work, either.
