This is a clause which appeared in a recent publishing contract - I haven't seen a clause of this type before.
Given that there has been some discussion on this list by/about editors and whether they own (or feel they own) copyright in their work - I thought this might be of interest.
"The Publishers agree that all editing in relation to the Work shall be undertaken by employees of the Publishers or persons who are contracted to the Publishers on terms which assign to the Publishers the entire copyright in relation to the products of the services of such persons and the Publisher hereby assigns to the Authors all rights of copyright in such revisios, alterations and amendments to the work made by the Publishers or their contractors or made by the Authors at the suggestion of the Publishers or their contractors."
