IMHO the encouragement of a longer term goes to (A) talent deciding on career path -- whether to speculate on creating IP or aim for a relatively safe professional job (B) agents, and (C) investors who hire creative people to work on IP projects involving multimillion dollar budgets. Although all these parties seek immediate income, an enduring opportunity for income and a financial legacy, is helpful.
