I heard an interview with someone from the band on NPR or Pacifica radio a few days ago. This is not quite the way Negativland presents the issues. If you want to hear their side of the story, check out their website, which has information about the lawsuit, their views on IP law, etc.

By the way, I have no connection to Negativland, have never heard their music, and haven't looked very deeply into the claims of either side in their dispute with the RIAA and Island Records, so I make no claims either for or against Negativland's positions.
