I believe these abstracts are protected under copyright. Owners would be the author, if an abstract was written by same, or Medline in the cases where they had to have the abstract written (not likely in most or even any cases?). Of course, if an author had assigned copyright to the publisher of the article, then the article likely also belongs to same.
