Viacom/Paramount have sent many demand letters to people operating "Star Trek" Web sites displaying and offering download of unauthorized copyrighted materials. I do not know whether any legal actions were ever filed against any of these. I also understand that the X-Files owners have sent demands to the operators of various X-Files Web sites.
