I know this is a little off point, but I figured I could get a quick answer here since many of us practice both copyright and trademark law.
On October 30, 1998 the Trademark Law Treaty Implemenation Act was enacted. The effective date for a great many of its provisions is the earlier of one year from the date of enactment or the date on which the Trademark Law Treaty enters into force with respect to the United States.
Does anyone know whether the treaty has entered into force with respect to the U.S. and, if so, the date. If not, what are the odds that it will become effective with respect to the US prior to one year after the date this leiglation was enacted?
