Addendum to my previous message: A quick Westlaw search disclosed that the Andy Warhol Foundation was sued in 1996 over artworks featuring images of Jackie Kennedy - not by her or her estate, but by the LIFE photographer who took the photos that Warhol copied. AWF's motion to dismiss was denied. Does anyone know if this suit was settled, or if it is still pending?
