Just literally copyright it yourself with the circle-c insignia. Then, if you are going to print your music in sheet, etc. form I think it falls more under the same jurisdiction as other printed materials. Your rights as an artist ensure that you immediately have copyright power over your work regardless of whether or not it has been produced or recorded by a market economy recording company -- i.e., regardless of whether your work has 'entered the music market'.
