Allow me to take the opportunity to plug the Center for Intellectual Property Law at Whittier Law School in Costa Mesa, California, about 50 miles south of Los Angeles. We have four full-time professors and a number of adjunct professors offering a dozen different classes in Intellectual Property.

Six courses are being offered during our eight-week summer session beginning June 1: Patent, Trademark, Copyright, Trade Secret, Internet Law, and Entertainment Law. We will be offering a similar mix of courses during the Summer of 2000. [It is likely that I will be teaching the Copyright course during that summer.]

During the 1999-2000 school year we will be offering the three core courses [Patent, Trademark and Copyright] and courses in Patent Prosecution, Trademark Prosecution, and International Trademark. [We also offer two seminars that are open to enrolled students only: Computers and the Law and Art and the Law.] The following year we hope to add courses in International Patent, International Copyright and Licensing as well.

Anyone interested in receiving information about these programs should send me a private e-mail with your name and mailing address. Please indicate whether you are a prospective student (summer only or full-time) or whether you already have a law degree and wish to audit one or more courses.

There are a number of other fine I.P. programs in the U.S., including LL.M. programs at Cardozo (N.Y.), Franklin Pierce (New Hampshire), George Washington (D.C.) and Univ. of Houston.
