When I worked in a hospital library, I had to make copies of articles from journals constantly. At that time, I had a stamp that said something to the effect of "This article is protected by Section .... of the U. S. Copyright." The stamp made it easy because I could copy a stack of articles, stamp them on the front page, and distribute them.
