Does anyone know about a copyright case involving Robert Crumb, who was a cartoonist who created obscene cartoons about Fritz the Cat? Apparently, he put a statement disclaiming copyright, but then he tried to sue when an animated film was made of fritz the cat, and he lost the case.

Any details of this case, with references, would be greatly appreciated.
