Deed of gift for copyright

cni-copyright:

I'm interested in the kind of "deed of gift" a museum would use if a donor were not granting ownership of an object but rather copyrights in that object.

Say a publisher grants a museum rights to its photography that was created as work-for-hire. What kind of representations would a museum require from the grantor to indicate that the grantor had the rights being given? Would it be considered appropriate to ask the grantor to prove that the rights were his to own? Would a museum request that the grantor promise to indemnify the museum against any claim or action developing from a claim (whether justified or not)?

Or will the written representation of the grantor to the effect that he owns the copyright and that as far as he knows there is no claim on the rights associated with the photographs suffice?
