Under Canadian copyright law, a published work is protected for 50 years from the end of the publication year, or 75 years from the end of the year of creation -- whichever is the lesser term (Sec.6.1). It's a little more complex where there are joint authors (Sec.6.2). If the author's identity becomes generally known during the term, duration changes to the standard "life plus 50". Moral protection guarantees that an author can insist on anonymous or pseudonymous publication.
