Don't be disheartened by the fact that most of the responses to your inquiry were the same. (I've quoted Dodi's as an example becuase I had already deleted many of the others, including my own.) We are not challenging your assertion that the materials are in the public domain, but without knowing why you think they are in the public domain we can not analyze your assertion.

It is common to make mistakes when determining whether a particular cartoon is in the public domain. The rules are not simple or clear cut. Furthermore, as Disney will likely highlight if they ever allow the copyright in that rodent to lapse, there are trademark issues involved with some cartoons.

So, please let us know more of the facts so we can help you out.
