HTML document into PDF : legal?

Is it legal to convert a HTML document into a PDF document.?

I we have a HTML text which is free of copyright, can we convert this document into a PDF format
without asking permission of author.

*Since converting HTML into PDF supress automatically the open source (HTML
code).*
*i.e. the integrity of the document will be copromised.*
